Kohli available for Delhi's Ranji Trophy game starting January 30
Twelve years after he last featured in India's premier domestic first-class tournament, Virat Kohli is set to return to the Ranji Trophy. Kohli confirmed his availability to play in Delhi's last round of group-phase matches, against the Railways, from January 30 to February 2. The development was confirmed by Delhi head coach Sarandeep Singh to ESPNcricinfo.
Kohli was a conspicuous absence in the squads for the penultimate round of group-phase matches, starting from January 23, when Delhi play Saurashtra in Rajkot. Both Rishabh Pant and Ravindra Jadeja confirmed they would play this match, but Kohli was ruled out after he informed the BCCI medical staff that he was still recovering from neck pain, for which he had taken an injection on January 8, three days after the Border-Gavaskar Trophy ended in Sydney. Several other India players will also feature in the January 23 round of games, including Rohit Sharma, Shubman Gill and Yashasvi Jaiswal.

Richard Dawson named interim head coach at Glamorgan
Glamorgan have hired Richard Dawson as interim head coach, following Grant Bradburn's abrupt departure last month due to claims of discriminatory behaviour.
Dawson was most recently a member of the England Men's white-ball coaching staff, having previously led the England Under-19s. He coached Gloucestershire for six years, achieving promotion from Division One in 2019 and a T20 Finals Day appearance in 2020, before joining the ECB's performance route in 2021.

India's left-arm spinner Vaishnavi Sharma became the second bowler to take a hat-trick in the U19 Women's T20 World Cup on Tuesday. The youngster had a memorable debut in the ongoing tournament as she returned with figures of 5-5 in her quota of four overs against Malaysia in the Group A match at the Bayuemas Oval in Kuala Lumpur.

On the third day of England's tour match against Queensland, David Gower and John Morris hired a Tiger Moth and buzzed the Carrara Oval, where Robin Smith had just returned to form with a hundred. But the dour England management didn't see the joke and the pair were fined. It could have been worse. Morris had intended dropping a water bomb from the plane.

CSK, KKR unlikely to consider acquiring teams in The Hundred:Interest levels among the Indian Premier League (IPL) owners for The Hundred league, the England and Wales Cricket Board's (ECB) trailblazing eight-team competition, appear to be declining. At least two franchises - Kolkata Knight Riders and Chennai Super Kings - are learnt to have decided not to seriously pursue the plans to acquire the English teams.
T20 heavyweights look to draw first blood ahead of five-round bout: Gautam Gambhir and Brendon McCullum have many things in common. They were both stellar openers, they were both captain and coach of Kolkata Knight Riders at different times, they're both known for their "aggressive" mindsets when it comes to approaching the game from the dugout, and, now, they both find themselves trying to shepherd teams in transition.
