The rain had the last laugh. The game was called off. The teams will split the points.

Families of team India would not be permitted to accompany Indian players to Dubai for the Champions Trophy.

One of the most debated points in BCCI's strict 10-point directive, introduced after India's Border-Gavaskar Trophy defeat to Australia, is the restriction on family travel. According to the guidelines shared with everyone involved in Indian cricket, players' families can stay with them for up to two weeks on tours lasting 45 days or more.

However, with the ICC Champions Trophy 2025 being just 20 days long, the new family protocols will prevent the likes of Anushka Sharma, Ritika Sajdeh, and other players' spouses from accompanying them to Dubai.

On This Day

Eddie Paynter left his hospital bed to assist England as they labored in the fourth Test of the Bodyline series. Paynter, who was suffering from acute tonsillitis, heard about England's problems on the radio and, with the Ashes on the line, took a taxi to the ground in his pyjamas. He stemmed the rot by finishing the day on 24 not out, going to the hospital, and then extending his innings to 83 the next morning.
