Former Australian cricketer David Warner is stepping into the world of Telugu cinema with a cameo in Robinhood, starring Nithiin and Sreeleela. Sharing the film’s poster on social media, Warner revealed that Robinhood will hit theaters on March 28.Warner has long been a fan of Telugu cinema, often entertaining fans with viral dance reels on popular Telugu songs. His deep connection with Hyderabad, especially after leading Sunrisers Hyderabad to the IPL title in 2016, has made him a beloved figure among Telugu audiences.
Apart from his film debut, Warner also weighed in on England’s ‘Bazball’ strategy ahead of the Ashes later this year. He believes the high-risk, aggressive style may not work in Australia, where conditions and their experienced bowling attack—featuring Pat Cummins, Mitchell Starc, Josh Hazlewood, and Nathan Lyon—pose a major challenge. With both cricket and cinema on his plate, Warner’s 2025 is set to be an exciting year!

Nitish Ready clears fitness test at NCA, ready for Ipl
Sunrisers Hyderabad all-rounder Nitish Kumar Reddy has been cleared by the BCCI medical team to feature in IPL 2025, starting with SRH’s first match against Rajasthan Royals on March 23. He is set to join the team’s pre-tournament camp, which begins on Sunday.
Nitish successfully completed a yo-yo test on Saturday, scoring 18 against the required 16.5, marking his return after recovering from a side strain sustained during the T20I series against England last month. He also participated in a practice game on Friday, bowling at full intensity without discomfort. The BCCI took a cautious approach with his rehab, extending it by two weeks beyond the initial three-week timeline.
A key part of India’s future Test plans, Nitish is expected to play a crucial role in the upcoming tour of England following the IPL. He was one of SRH’s five retained players after a breakout IPL 2024, where he scored 303 runs at a strike rate of 142.92. While his bowling was less effective, he remains a promising all-rounder.
Nitish made his international debut in the T20I series against Bangladesh and later impressed in the Border-Gavaskar Trophy in Australia, scoring a memorable Test century in Melbourne. He had planned to train under former India bowling coach Bharat Arun in Chennai but had to delay those plans due to his injury. Now fully fit, he’s ready for an exciting IPL season ahead!

On This Day
Test cricket officially began with a match between Australia and England at the MCG, though it was originally titled All England vs. A Combined New South Wales and Victoria XI. Neither team was at full strength—Australia, a combined Melbourne and Sydney XI, played without Frederick Spofforth, while England had no amateurs, including the legendary W.G. Grace. They were also without a proper wicketkeeper, as Surrey’s Ted Pooley was arrested in New Zealand following a gambling scandal.
Australia’s Charles Bannerman, originally from Kent, made history by facing the first ball from Alfred Shaw, scoring the first run, and registering the first-ever Test century. He reached 165 before retiring hurt after a blow to the finger from George Ulyett. His score accounted for 67.3% of Australia’s total of 245—a record that still stands over 130 years later.
Australia won the match by 45 runs, a result remarkably mirrored exactly a century later on the same ground in the 1977 Centenary Test. This historic encounter marked the beginning of the longest and most prestigious format in cricket.
