Royal Challengers Bangalore's home troubles continued as Gujarat Titans dominated them with a clinical run chase

Royal Challengers Bangalore's home troubles continued as Gujarat Titans dominated them with a clinical run chase. After a strong start to their IPL campaign with wins at Eden Gardens and Chepauk, RCB struggled once again in their own backyard.
Gujarat Titans read the conditions perfectly when bouncing back from their opening loss. Shubman Gill and Sai Sudharsan played cautiously in the powerplay before Sudharsan and Jos Buttler took charge, ensuring a smooth chase. Despite a breakthrough from Josh Hazlewood, GT never looked in trouble, sealing the win comfortably.
RCB's batting fell short, and their bowlers couldn't build pressure in the middle overs. With back-to-back wins, GT looks solid, while RCB needs to fix their home struggles if they want to be serious title contenders.
Up next, last year’s finalists—KKR vs. SRH—face off in what promises to be a thrilling contest! Stay tuned.

Jaiswal Set to Shift from Mumbai to Goa for 2025-26 Domestic Season
Young India opener Yashasvi Jaiswal has made a surprising domestic switch, moving from Mumbai to Goa for the 2025-26 season. The Mumbai Cricket Association (MCA) was caught off guard by Jaiswal’s transfer request but granted the no-objection certificate (NOC) without delay.
Goa Cricket Association (GCA) secretary Shambu Desai confirmed that GCA had approached Jaiswal as part of their efforts to build a strong squad. The 23-year-old has been a key player for Mumbai since his Under-19 days, making his first-class debut in 2019 and amassing 863 runs in ten matches at an average of 53.93. His domestic career includes multiple centuries, with standout performances in the 2021-22 Ranji Trophy.
Jaiswal played his last game for Mumbai in the 2024-25 Ranji Trophy season but missed the semi-finals due to an ankle injury. He follows players like Siddesh Lad and Arjun Tendulkar, who also moved from Mumbai to Goa in their careers.
Internationally, Jaiswal made a dream debut for India in 2023 with a 171 against West Indies and later scored a double century against England. A regular in Tests and T20Is, he was left out of India's Champions Trophy squad but named as a non-traveling reserve.
Currently playing for Rajasthan Royals in the IPL, Jaiswal has had a slow start with scores of 1, 29, and 4. RR face Punjab Kings next in Mullanpur on April 5. Meanwhile, Goa enters the next season with momentum, having won the 2024-25 Ranji Trophy Plate League.
“I was absolutely bricking it before the warm-up game [in New Zealand], just knowing that I'd have Joe Root standing to my right, Brooky and Duckett waffling and giggling at each other, and Stokes at mid-off looking at me."

Wednesday History:
John Taylor, born today, is a former Australian cricketer who had a brief but notable stint with Western Australia during the 2003–04 season. Originally from Melbourne, Taylor was a right-handed all-rounder who moved to Western Australia in search of better opportunities at the senior level.
He made his debut in the limited-overs ING Cup in November 2003 and soon got a chance in first-class cricket. Across six first-class matches, Taylor scored 132 runs at an average of 18.85, with a top score of 50. With the ball, he picked up 12 wickets, his best performance being 4/70 against Victoria.
Despite showing promise, Taylor decided to return to Victoria after just one season for personal reasons, even though he was offered a full contract by Western Australia. He didn’t play state-level cricket again but did feature for a Victorian Invitation XI against the touring New Zealanders in December 2004. Though his professional career was short-lived, he remains a part of Australia’s rich domestic cricket history.
On This Day
Twenty-eight years after their first World Cup win, India lifted the trophy once again in 2011, breaking multiple jinxes along the way. Facing Sri Lanka in their second consecutive final, India overcame the odds at Wankhede Stadium, defying history where home teams had never won and chasing sides rarely succeeded.
Mahela Jayawardene’s masterful century set a challenging target, and early strikes from Lasith Malinga left India reeling at 31/2. But Gautam Gambhir’s gritty 97 steadied the chase before captain MS Dhoni promoted himself ahead of Yuvraj Singh, who was later named Player of the Tournament. Dhoni produced a match-winning knock, neutralizing Muthiah Muralidaran in his farewell game and sealing victory in style with an iconic six over long-on. The moment sparked celebrations across Mumbai and the entire nation, etching India’s second World Cup triumph into history.
